html5 - Safari & Chrome freezing when focusing a Select in iOS -


i have reoccurring problem safari , chrome on ios freezing when select focused. i've seen older posts no resolutions.

i have page high number of html inputs , selects. tried design page in way use divs inputs lower overall count, of them still needed.

the page doesn't freeze when focusing, when does, it's long time , browser crashes.

info:

  • there selects on page display:none or inside hidden divs. of can revealed changing different toggles.

  • there no input type="hidden" inputs on page.

  • the freezing problem not happen in android, windows, mac, or ubuntu in browsers i've tested.

since apple amazing company , designs software well, you're going have compensate heavily altering design though works fine in every other modern browser. think of ios ei 6 of our time. it's sure leave legacy.

now it's drawing board , else delightful technicality. you're going enjoy wasting lots of time writing code things basic functionality selects , inputs supposed do. ensure pages can load smidgen slower whilst wasting bunch of time , effort writing code no reason @ all.
