my main points: editing , running code on chromebook. also, amend drawback running windows or linux (ie, ubuntu, mint)?thanks guys advice.
i use acer c720 chromebook (2gb ram, 16gb ssd) meteor (javascript, html. css, mongodb) development machine. specs may sound poor in reality - fantastic haswell chip - laptop great.
i have xubuntu installed instead of chromeos... maybe not real answer question.
it's fantastic little machine - long battery life , boots in few seconds. tried bodhi linux first find xubuntu better needs.
i expanded storage using keep-in tiny ultrafit 64gb usb 3.0 flash key. amazing device.
i use hdmi monitor when doing longer coding sessions.
device cost me $150 on ebay , around $25 usb key.
i use free http://komodoide.com/komodo-edit/ editor.
if feel taking plunge , converting chromeos xubuntu, these 2 links may help:
